On July 29th, 2017, Equifax was hacked and according to a statement released by the company, the information stolen included:

  • The names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses, and, in some instances, driver’s license numbers, of approximately 143 million consumers.
  • Credit card numbers of approximately 209,000 U.S. consumers, and “certain dispute documents with personal identifying information” for approximately 182,000 U.S. consumers, were also accessed in the breach.
In wake of this unfortunate news, Equifax is offering free credit and identity theft monitoring and protection. To check if your information was compromised and to enroll in their complimentary identity theft protection, please visit equifaxsecurity2017.com
